The last race of the year is always bittersweet, but one Eagle earned her way to the state contest and kept her season alive for one more week. Jocelyn Franzen capped off her sophomore year at a windy District meet at Cambridge last Thursday, Oct. 13, placing 6th with a time of 22:45.5.

“We are thrilled to have another State qualifier this year,” said Coach Stephanie Wolf. “The plan going into State is to keep practicing as if we are gearing up for another big race. We look forward to watching her race Friday!”

Ending their season at Districts were the other three runners, including sophomore Jayden Tillman, who led the Eagle trio on the boys’ side with a time of 20:33.66, good for 38th. Levi Jurjens ran the final race of his high school career, finishing strong with a 23:02.44 after a couple of weeks off. Ed Hagin brought up the back of the pack, rounding out his freshman season with a 24:53.2.
