Memorial Day weekend marks the opening of lake season for local lake-goers and this past weekend was no exception. Families and friends enjoyed time on the boat, trying to catch a little something to fry up and giving the dog some exercise in the front yard.
Memorial Day is a time set aside to pay tribute and remembrance to our nation’s veterans who are no longer with us. The weekend has also long been widely regarded as the kick-off to the summer season. As we remain in the grips of the COVID-19 pandemic, both aspects of the holiday were affected.
