The West Central District Health Department in North Platte has confirmed in a press release issued late on March 17, that a Lincoln County man has tested positive for COVID-19.
According to the press release, the man is in his 50s and had recently returned to Lincoln County from a cruise. He had also been traveling in California. At this time the man is in self-isolation in his home. The health department is continuing to investigate to determine others who may have come in contact with the individual.
The WCDHD reports that approximately 32 tests for COVID-19 have been conducted in the district, and of those one has been a travel-related positive.
“We need to be extra vigilant and stay home if we’re experiencing any symptoms consistent with COVID-19 or other respiratory illnesses including fever, cough, and shortness of breath,” said Shannon Vanderheiden, executive director of WCDHD. “We will continue to work together to help slow the spread.”
