Nebraska’s Primary Election took place as scheduled on May 12, with a large percentage of voters opting for early mail-in ballots. In the Gothenburg East ward, 37.9% of the 1,294 registered voters cast a ballot, with 31.76% of those opting for the mail-in option.

Meanwhile in the West ward 31.33% of the 1,280 registered voters voted, with 24.53% of them choosing to mail in their ballots. Less than 7% of voters from either of the town’s wards personally visited the poll.
