In 2019, the obstetrics/gynecology team at Gothenburg Health delivered a total of 52 babies. It’s not often the staff gets to welcome a true “New Year’s Baby” - but this year they did!
Elkin Wayne Knust came into the world at 7:28 p.m. on Jan. 1, 2021. He is the son of Andrew and Alicia Knust of Gothenburg. The healthy bouncing baby boy weighed 7 pounds 3 ounces and birth and measured 18 inches in length.
Elkin, which means “God creates”, is being welcomed home by a brother, Daniel, and a sister, Emma. Grandparents are Floyd and Ann Knust of Neligh, Diann Ackerman of Albion and George Boschen of Gothenburg. Elkin is also being welcomed by great-grandparents Mary Ann Borer of Neligh, Cleora Fisher of Albion and Gloria Boschen of Newman Grove.
“We are very excited to begin this new year with this little blessing,” said mom Alicia Knust. “We were surprised by his early arrival and can’t thank Gothenburg Health enough for the amazing care we received.”
