Gothenburg High School Counselor Jerry Wiggins has been named a finalist for the High School Counselor of the Year award for the 2019-20 school year. The recognition was announced by the Nebraska School Counselor’s Association at its annual awards luncheon on Nov. 7, 2019. At that luncheon, Loni Watson of Chadron High School was named High School Counselor of the Year.
The finalists and Counselors of the Year recipients will be honored at a formal dinner in February, at which time one will be announced as the overall Nebraska School Counselor of the Year. The winner will represent Nebraska in the National School Counselor of the Year competition conducted by the American School Counselor Association.
