Donna Lee Jensen, 73, of Gothenburg, died June 10, 2020 at Hilltop Estates in Gothenburg. She was born Feb. 26, 1947 in Gothenburg, daughter of Marvin Lee and Luella Madeline (Waltman) Jensen.
Donna grew up in Gothenburg and graduated from the Nebraska School of the Blind in 1967. She was very athletic, loved to ride her bike, go bowling and participate in track. She loved to go to the pool and dive off the high dive. She was very musical and played the piano, the guitar and the accordion, and enjoyed entertaining people at Hilltop, the Senior Center and other places with her accordion.
Donna read as many books in Braille as she could get her hands on, and had several leader dogs that assisted her throughout her life including Buffy who was very special to her. Her faith was important to her, she attended the Presbyterian and Baptist churches and was baptized at the American Lutheran Church. She made her home at Hilltop Estates for the past 24 years.
Survivors include a sister, Shirley Ann Jensen and her son Matthew of California; two brothers, David Ray (Debby) Jensen of Cozad, and Bob (Mary Jane) Jensen of Gothenburg and their families; two aunts, Rosemary Zeleski and Helen Armor; one uncle, George Jensen, and extended family and friends.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Luella Jensen, and numerous aunts and uncles.
Graveside services were held on Saturday, June 13 at the Gothenburg Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Gothenburg Volunteer Fire Department.
