Another successful Harvest Festival is in the books, and with having to cancel the 2020 event this year was even more special. Several new activities were added to the calendar for 2021 giving local residents and guests a full four days of fun in Gothenburg. Many thanks go out to the Gothenburg Chamber of Commerce, Special Events Committee, and all the volunteers who contributed to a wonderful event.

To the residents of Gothenburg:

This community never ceases to amaze. For the past five years during Harvest Festival, the Gothenburg Chamber of Commerce has asked more and more of Gothenburg’s residents and businesses — more sponsorships, more volunteers, more participants, more time. And every year, without fail, you have stepped up.

Whether it’s someone to organize an event or a last-minute request for ice, you were there. When we needed more contest entries or lights or food, you were there. When asked to donate cattle panels or tables or time or your hard-earned money, you were there. Some of you were front and center. We appreciate you! For the most part, though, it is all those moving parts and people behind the scenes who make running a four-day festival like this possible. We REALLY appreciate you!

There is a team of about a dozen people who worked all year on the Chamber committee to pull together a Harvest Festival celebration that folks of all ages and walks of life could enjoy. When you see any of these folks, give them a shout out for a job well done: Alec Foster, Andrew Knust, Casey Madsen, Johnathan Amador, Kim Jorgenson, Mary Bell, Michael Pracheil, Rebecca Steward, Roxanne Converse-Whiting, Scott Newman and Mark Watje. This weekend full of activities simply would not come together without the dedication of this team.

We can’t begin to individually thank each and every one of you who made this year’s 106th Harvest Festival celebration a huge success. But we can say here — publicly — that we notice, we acknowledge your efforts and we are forever grateful for your contributions big and small.

We look forward to bringing you another stellar weekend next year. Mark your calendars now for Sept. 15-18, 2022.
