The 2020 All-Southwest Conference softball team has some familiar names on the roster.

Freshman pitcher Hannah Devlin, sophomore infielder Taysia Holbein, senior infielder Avery Dunphy and junior utility player Madi Beachel were named to the All-Conference team, which was announced late last week.

Swede head softball coach Luke Dea said that the honor was fitting for these players as the 2020 season held many opportunities to learn and grow for each player.

“Out of necessity, almost every player had to contribute in various ways,” he said.

Dea went on to say that while the outgoing seniors leave some shoes to fill, there are exciting things on the horizon for the Swede softball team.

“We have a lot of letter winners returning for next year,” Dea said.

In thinking about the season, Dea said that the tools the team gained this season through different opportunities on the diamond help them move into a new season.

“I hope those experiences bode well for the future,” he said.
