Gothenburg’s junior varsity track teams took on the Cozad Triangular at Haymaker Stadium March 30.
The meet provided the young Swedes an opportunity to gain valuable meet experience and work on their technique in competition as they each vie for a spot on the varsity squad.
The meet included competition from Cozad and Overton with the Swedes showing well in multiple events.
On the boys’ side, Alaric Jesseph placed third in the 100 meters, second in the 200 meters and second in the long jump.
James Brian lept his way to first place in the long jump and took third place in the 200 meters while Kurt Kuhlman crossed the line second in the 800 meters.
Jackson Nelson took first in the 1600 meter run.
The Lady Swedes also found success with Hannah Devlin taking fourth in the 100 meters and third in the long jump.
Abbi Siemek, Wren Herrick and Ericka Gerabas went 2-3-4 in the 100 meter high hurdles.
Kara Waskowiak took top honors in the shot and Emaleigh Rosse and Paige Hoeke went 1-2 in the pole vault.
