The Lady Swedes took a trip up north Feb. 7 to go head-to -head with the Valentine Badgers and were kept on their heels due to a sturdy defense that didn’t allow Gothenburg to find an answer.
“We were unable to get into any transition game,” coach Brent Streeter said. “With them sitting in a tight zone defense, we simply had a difficult time finding any rhythm for some reason or another. “
Gothenburg was up at the half, but going into the fourth quarter, trailed by three.
“Toward the end, they managed to knock down a couple of three-point baskets and that pretty much sealed the deal for them,” Streeter said.
Amya Bliven was good for 21 points and five rebounds.
Kynlee Strauser had seven points and six rebounds.
