Swede wrestlers hit the road on Jan. 8, heading west for the Ogallala Duals.
The meet, comprising 11 teams, was a good challenge for the Swedes, many of whom are continuing to improve on their seasons.
The Swedes are looking at another busy week, heading to the Broken Bow Triangular on Jan. 13 then hosting the Gothenburg Invitational on Jan. 15.
The 10-team dual format invitational will see the first round begin at 10 a.m.
Teams were seeded before the meet with rounds one through four predetermined by seeds.
Round five will see teams seeded according to results in the first four rounds with the championship match being the last match of the day.
Gothenburg will battle for the Ax on Jan. 18 when they wrestle against Cozad in a dual at Gothenburg High School.
The Ax has made its home at GHS for the past two seasons and the Swedes look to keep it in its rightful place on the wrestling room wall.
The Jan. 15 Gothenburg Invitational begins at 10 a.m. at GHS.
The Swedes will host Cozad in a dual on Jan. 18 beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Both events will be live-streamed on the Gothenburg Activities YouTube channel, found at https://www.youtube.com/c/GothenburgActivities.
