Pumpkin spice on the menus, football on the television, and turkey served at the Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church annual gathering. It just feels like fall.
This year’s Turkey Dinner was held on Sunday, Oct. 4, at the parish center in Gothenburg.
“It’s about good food, of course, but it’s also about seeing your friends and neighbors from across the community,” says Trudy McFadden, co-chair of the event. “It’s fun for us, because it’s something we do as an entire church family. We all pull together to do everything from setup and cooking to serving and cleanup.”
The menu included all of the traditional favorites - turkey and all the fixings, rolls, homemade pies, and desserts - and approximately 625 meals were served.
