Ball fields, arboretum, playgrounds, splash pad, and the lake are all areas synonymous with Gothenburg’s parks. What many people may be surprised to learn is that our City Parks Department maintains more than 100 acres, some of which no one even notices.
Noah Dea is now in his sixth summer as Gothenburg’s City Parks Director. “When I came here they kind of restructured a little bit of how the care of the grounds was facilitated,” Dea said.
Along with keeping up the mowing, trimming and maintenance at Ehmen Park, E.G. West Park, and Lake Helen, the parks department also mows the cemetery, 4-plex, Senior Center, pool area, library, and City Hall.
