The Gothenburg school board had a fairly light agenda for its May 11 meeting, with only a handful of items requiring discussion and/or approval. One of those action items, however, does come with a slight bit of controversy.
After being in the district for only one year, Nolan Sughroue submitted his letter of resignation, which Superintendent Dr. Allison Jonas shared with the board on May 11. Dr. Jonas reminded the board that the resignation is past the contract deadline and recommended denying the request on that basis.
