1911 – Several individuals, including James Winchell, went to North Platte to attend the Federal Court hearing in the Ehmen Estate vs. the City. The title to the City Park (Ehmen Park) was decided in the favor of the city.

1931 – Riding on a beautiful float in the 1931 Gothenburg Harvest Festival Parade was Miss Lillian Nordin, the 1931 parade queen.

1936 – Over fifty businessmen met with the City Council in the interests of building a swimming pool for Gothenburg.

1961 – The word “ain’t” was about to be officially accepted as an approved word and was to be listed in the new Webster …
