Historical Museum Welcomes Visitors For The Season

    The Gothenburg Historical Museum is open for the season, and on Monday, April 27, museum board members and volunteers hosted an open house to kick-start the 2026 season.

    The museum opens each year on May 1 and remains open to the public through Sept. 30. During the in-between, volunteers are busy sprucing up displays and adding new items. That means even if you have visited the museum before, you are likely to see something new this year.

    The building that is home to the museum, located at 1420 Ave. F, was purchased in 2005 and this summer the museum will celebrate its 20th anniversary. The location is ideal for travelers checking out the community for the first time, as the museum is located directly across the street from beautiful Ehmen Park and the Pony Express Station Museum.
