This is an exciting week for students of Gothenburg High School, particularly for the senior class, who are embarking upon their final high school Homecoming.
On Friday, Sept. 25, the theme, dress-up days, and candidates for Homecoming 2026 were announced. This year’s theme is “The Swedes World Tour,” with dress-up days featuring the red, white, and blue stadium tour; wild safari; Antarctica; the Bahamas; and finally, the hometown finale.
The themes were announced during a high school assembly last Friday, concluding with the highlight of the gathering - the announcement of royalty candidates. This year they are: Queen - Aliyah Carlson, Grace Evert, and Aubrey Cross; King - Blake Rickertsen, Braden Ehlers, and Tyler Hetz.
