You’re Invited to Join World’s Largest Polio Walk
The Gothenburg Rotary Club will join Rotarians across District 5630 for the World's Largest Polio Walk on World Polio Day, Saturday, Oct. 24. Everyone is invited to join the walk at Lake Helen beginning at 10 a.m.
In countries where polio vaccination campaigns take place, children's pinky fingers are marked with purple ink to show they've received the vaccine. That small purple mark represents something enormous: protection against a disease that can cause lifelong paralysis. On Oct. 24, Gothenburg Rotarians will be painting pinky fingernails purple for everyone who joins the world’s largest polio walk.
