The July 13 meeting of the Gothenburg Board of Education began with the recognition and celebration of two Swede athletes who had an outstanding track season in 2026 at GHS. Jax Rickertsen, a 2026 graduate, and Bryson Neels, an incoming junior, were applauded for their accomplishment of winning a medal at the Nebraska State Track & Field Championships in May. Their parents and coaches were in attendance at the meeting, as GPS Activities Director Marc Mroczek recognized the young men.
