Brothers Earn Medals at State Games

For the past 42 years, Nebraska has hosted the Cornhusker State Games – an opportunity for top-quality amateur athletes to compete in a wide range of activities. This year's games were held July 9-19 at more than 70 sites in Lincoln, Omaha, and surrounding communities.

Two young athletes representing Gothenburg competed in the track & field events at the games, brothers Joseph and Jeromiah Holley. In the long jump, Joseph leaped 12' 02' to earn the gold medal in the XM 9-10 age division. Joseph earned a medal as well in the 200m dash where he ran 33.15 for the bronze medal. He also competed in the 100m dash where his time of 15.85 was good for 4th place in his division.
