Swede Volleyball Looks to Rebuild Under Experienced Coaching

Entering his 12th season as head coach of the Gothenburg High School volleyball team, Coach Bryson Mahlberg has enjoyed a lot of success over the years. The coaching staff of Mahlberg and returning assistants Kim Jorgenson and Jami Stortenbecker will be looking to build on the tradition of Swede volleyball as they begin the 2026 campaign this evening, Aug. 27, on their home court against Cozad.

Helping lead the way for the Lady Swedes will be seniors Zoe Beveridge, who was named 2nd Team All-SWC in 2025, Grace Evert, and Ellaray Koch. Last season, Beveridge averaged 2.6 kills per set, 2.6 digs per set with 243 total digs, and 34 service aces. Evert finished the 2025 season with 38 total blocks, while Koch averaged 2.4 digs per set and 192 total digs.
