Lady Swedes Face Tough Competitors at York Invite

    Thanks to Mother Nature, the Lady Swedes tennis team had a shorter-thanplanned week last week. The Swedes were scheduled to head to Holdrege for a junior varsity and varsity dual with the Dusters on Tuesday, May 5, but that match was canceled due to inclement weather.

    The Swedes were able to load up and head east to York on Thursday, May 7, for an all-day invitational.

    Junior Zoe Beveridge played in the #1 singles slot for the day. Beveridge struggled against Tessa Cockerill of Waverly, dropping the match 8-4. In her longest match of the day, Beveridge took on Karaline Brekke of York. The two went into a tiebreaker that ultimately ended in a 9-8 (3-7) loss for the Swedes.
