The Gothenburg cross country team began its highly anticipated 2026 season on Saturday, Sept. 5, in Minden. In the field of nine teams on the men’s side and eight in the women’s division, both Swedes’ teams finished third in the overall team standings on the day.
Junior Scout Bell claimed the gold medal for the ladies with a time of 19:22:72, nearly half a second ahead of her closest competitor from McCook. Freshman Cassidy Reiman had a great day on the course for her first varsity outing, coming in fourth place with a time of 20:01.93. Junior Brooklyn Reiman had a time of 22:23.81, good for 25th place.
