The headline of this article is the motto chosen to represent the GHS Class of 2026, as Gothenburg High School hosted its 129th Commencement Ceremony on Sunday, May 10, with 58 students earning their high school diplomas. While the 202526 school year has seen a lot of athletic accomplishments, it has also been a big year academically. According to Jr./Sr. High Principal Seth Ryker, 33 of the 58 seniors plan to attend a 4-year college or university next fall while 17 will be going to a 2-year college. That equates to slightly over 86% of the 2026 class moving on to post-secondary education.
The academic highlights of the Class of 2026 are impressive.
Four members of the class achieved a score of 30 or above on their ACT test, and four students earned a Regents Scholarship.
