George “Bill” Rogers

George “Bill” Rogers, 85 of Brady, passed away on May 30, 2026, in Chandler, Arizona. Bill was born on Dec. 13, 1940, in Birdwood, to James and Norma (Swearingen) Rogers.

He graduated from Brady Public Schools in 1959 and later earned a degree from Chadron State College. On June 8, 1962, he married Kay Elsasser in North Platte.

Bill devoted his life to education. During a 36-year career in education, Bill served as a teacher, coach, principal, activities director, and superintendent, touching the lives of countless students and families in communities across Nebraska, including Red Willow, Brady, Thedford, Winnebago, Deshler, Stapleton, Hershey, and Valentine, before proudly returning home to Brady to complete his career. Survivors include his children, Todd (Patty) Rogers, and Kristi (Scott) Most; seven grandchildren, Anna (Liam McClarnon), Sara, and Kala Most, Samantha, Kylie, Eliegh, and Aiden Rogers; brother-in-law, Michael (Ann) Elsasser; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kay; his parents; his parents-in-law, Arno and Evelyn Elsasser; his brother and sister-in-law, James K. and Paula Rogers; and his sister-in-law, Geri Bond.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 11, at 1 p.m. at Carpenter Memorial Chapel in North Platte. Burial will follow at Brady Cemetery, with a luncheon at the Brady Community Center.
