Cozad was the host site for the 2026 Southwest Conference Track and Field Champions held on Saturday, May 2, and it was another great day to be a Swede!
The Gothenburg women’s team finished as Conference Champions, while the men ended the day as Conference Runner-Up.
The Gothenburg ladies finished the meet with a strong 119 points to earn the conference title, while Minden claimed the runner-up spot with 93 points and Holdrege took third place in the team standings with 85 points. The Lady Swedes earned the gold medal in five events on the day.
Sophomore Scout Bell was conference champion in both the 1600m and 3200m, the 4x100m relay team came in first, senior Halsey Thomalla threw her way to a conference gold in shot put, and Amaiya Carlson was the champion in discus.
