It was a blowout win and a record-breaking night for the Swedes on Friday, Oct. 2, as they hosted the Chase County Longhorns from Imperial on the gridiron for Homecoming.
The stage was set early, with the Longhorns receiving the opening kickoff and the Swede defense holding them to threeand- out. Then, on their very first play from scrimmage of the night, junior quarterback Dillon Floyd connected with senior wide receiver Axtyn Jesseph on a long pass for 6. By the end of the night, the duo would be new Gothenburg High School record holders.
Floyd went 15-of-22 for 290 yards, 7 touchdowns, and no interceptions.
