We are likely all familiar with the adage, “Records are made to be broken.” It seems some take that phrase to heart a little more than others. Bryson Neels is one of them.
Some of his earliest memories revolve around a high school track, where his dad, Tony, coached. Bryson says he enjoyed watching the athletes train and work hard to get better, and emulated what he saw from a young age. Even then, he had goals to push himself to be the best.
At the Midwest Nebraska Track Classic on April 21, held in Gothenburg, the sophomore had his sights set on a time he wanted to run in the 800m. His goal was simply to better his previous times. He did that, and more, as he set a new meet and school record in the event with a time of 1:53.30.
