The Gothenburg boys’ golf team had their final regular-season meet on Thursday, May 14, at Crandall Creek Golf Course in Ogallala. It is a very familiar course for the Swedes and is the same course that hosts the district meet, giving the golfers one last opportunity to practice on the course prior to the state qualifying meet.
A total of 14 teams participated in last week’s invitational, with Scottsbluff walking away with the team title with a combined score of 301. Sidney finished second, followed by Gering. Gothenburg finished about right in the middle of the pack in sixth place overall, with a combined score of 334.
The low round of the day was shot by Chase County’s Zak Anderson, who tied with Gavin Carrizales of Scottsbluff with 71. The Swedes did not have a golfer finish in the top 10…
