Swedes Continue to Earn Honors For 2025-26 Season

    Practice for the Gothenburg High School fall sports teams officially begins on Monday, Aug. 10. As the Swedes gear up for the 2026-27 school year and season, accolades continue to roll in for the outstanding performances the teams garnered in 2025-26.

    It was recently announced that the Gothenburg volleyball team has earned the 2026 AVCA Team Academic Award from the American Volleyball Coaches Association! This national recognition honors volleyball teams that excel in the classroom by maintaining an outstanding team GPA throughout the school year. Even more impressively, the Swedes also earned the distinction of being named to the AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll, placing them among the top 20 percent of team GPAs nationally in their division.
