Warner Brings Home Hardware at State Trap

    The Gothenburg Trap team headed east for the final time this year to crush some clays at the 56th Annual Cornhusker Trapshoot, put on by Nebraska Game and Parks in Doniphan. This event hosts over 2,000 middle and high school shooters, not only from Nebraska, but from across the nation.

    The action began on Thursday, April 30, with the junior team stepping up to the trap. Competing against a range of shooters from 6th-8th grade, the team shot a total of 100 targets from the 16-yard range. Although no Gothenburg juniors ended up in the medals, Shad Sall and Bentley Christensen led the team, breaking a respectable 90 and 89 rocks respectively. Both shooters also earned a 25-straight patch for their effort.
