1911 – County Commissioners voted to establish a road through the hills between Gothenburg and Farnam.

1916 – The United States Government gathered reliable figures as to the value per acre of farmland in every state in the Union. Nebraska averaged value per acre was $76. Kansas averaged value per acre was $58.

1916 – Gothenburg’s annual show was on with the name changed to Colt Show & Harvest Festival. Over

6,000 plates of free barbeque were served at the event.

1931 –Huge crowds were reported to have enjoyed Gothenburg’s biggest Harvest Festival. An estimated

10,000 people attend…
