SEAN HAGEWOOD, UNIVERSITY COMMUNICATION

Jack Aden of Gothenburg, a graduate of Gothenburg Junior-Senior High School, is among 10 first-year students chosen for the 2026-27 cohort of the Kiewit Scholars Program in the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's College of Engineering.

Aden is a mechanical engineering major at the university.

The sixth cohort in the program's history was selected from 375 applications.

The Kiewit Scholars Program at Nebraska invests in students with exceptional leadership potential to develop complete engineers who are ready and eager to solve problems of global significance.

Through a curated four-year program paired with a Big Ten degree, students will gain the skills and knowledge they need to become world-class engineers and leaders.
