City Receives Property For Development of New Park

Thanks to the generosity of a local financial institution, the City of Gothenburg is now the owner of a parcel of downtown property, with plans to develop the land for community use and enrichment.

The property located on 10th Street and Avenue D is occasionally utilized for community events, such as the Harvest Festival. Flatwater Bank purchased the property, planning for future growth.

However, the bank’s recent acquisition of another property on the south end of town has negated the need for the downtown parcel.
