The Gothenburg High School girls’ golf team competed in two meets last week. On Tuesday, Sept. 8, the team traveled to Broken Bow, and on Thursday, Sept. 11, the Swedes competed in an invitational in Lexington.
At Broken Bow, Adyson Stevens led the Swedes with a season-best 9-hole 57. She finished 17th overall, just missing a top-15 finish by 4 strokes.
“The Swedes played with adversity at the Broken Bow meet as the weather conditions were not ideal with an almost two-hour rain delay, cutting the tournament to a 9-hole competition,” explained Coach Tara Foster. “The girls started off well, sinking putts and hitting great approach shots, but lost momentum after waiting in the clubhouse.”
