4-H Scholarship Winners Announced

Two Dawson County 4-H’ers received the Donna and Daryl Keiser 4-H Scholarship. Abby Negley, daughter of Tim and Jeni Negley of Gothenburg and Carson Reiman, son of Mark and Miranda Reiman of Cozad were the recipients of $500 scholarships.

Concordia University Features Two Gothenburg Grads

On May 9, nearly 500 Concordia University, Nebraska undergraduate and graduate students were awarded degrees. The class of 2026 was honored during a commencement ceremony held in the Walz Human Performance Complex. Madison Beachel of Gothenburg earned a Bachelor of Science-Education.

GHS Alum Member of National Championship Equestrian Team

West Texas A&M University’s Western Seat equestrian team is the national champion following a weekend competition at the 2026 Intercollegiate Horse Show Association finals. “We could not be prouder of the 2026 WT Equestrian Team,” said Dr.

CSC Graduates Include Area Students

Chadron State College’s Spring Commencement on Saturday honored 29 Associate of General Studies degree recipients, 52 candidates for master’s degrees, 188 candidates for bachelor’s degrees, and one specialist degree candidate. Following are this year’s CSC graduates who call our area home.

A Convocation of Eagles Fly to New Heights

On Saturday, May 9 at 4 p.m., a fresh flock of Eagles left the nest. With a total of 16 students crossing the stage, the Brady Public Schools honored the class of 2026 in its 120th graduation ceremony. The class colors were red, black and gold, and the class flower was a white carnation.

Reiman Receives OCIA Scholarship

The headline of this article is the motto chosen to represent the GHS Class of 2026, as Gothenburg High School hosted its 129th Commencement Ceremony on Sunday, May 10, with 58 students earning their high school diplomas.

Setting Up Shop: The Sip Has the Tea

There’s a new shop in town, and it’s a tasty one. Traci Hanes and Joslyn Forbes, a mother-daughter duo from North Platte, recently opened the doors to “The Sip”, a tearoom specializing in energy teas, protein shakes and protein coffees right here in downtown Gothenburg.
