Swedes Suffer First Loss in Overtime Heartbreaker

Coaches, players, and fans of both teams anticipated a close game last Friday night as the undefeated Gothenburg Swedes hit the road to meet the also unbeaten Ord Chanticleers. While the intensity of the game certainly did not disappoint, for Swedes fans, the final outcome, did.

It was a battle of defenses in the first eight minutes of play, as neither team was able to put any points on the board. Ord was first to find their way into the end zone in the second quarter, and with a successful PAT the Chants took a 7-0 lead, which they held to the half.

The third quarter was more of the same - a defensive battle. This time, though, the Swedes were able to capitalize and put points on their side of the board when quarterback Dillon Floyd carried the ball into the end zone to even the score at 7.…
